Iresh Kumar, MD, FAAP
Dr. Kumar is a board certified pediatrician in practice for over
12 years. He completed his pediatric training at the University of Illinois at Chicago and was Chief
resident at the program, actively involved in academics and medical student teaching.
Dr. Kumar practiced in Oklahoma for 7 years and was actively involved in Phase III clinical
trialsfor new medications like Xopenex HFA and Ciclesonide for asthma. He has moved with his family to the area and
started his practice in Frisco in 2005.
Dr. Kumar is a fellow of American Academy of Pediatrics and a member of Texas Pediatric
Society, American Medical Association and Texas Medical Association.
Dr. Kumar has special interest in
allergies, asthma, immunizations, health promotion and healthcare technology.
Dr. Kumar has been very actively involved with the Texas Pediatric Society (state chapter
of the American Academy of Pediatrics) being a member of the various committees like Committee
on Constitution and Bylaws (2007-2008), Committee on Communications and Technology (2007-2008), Committee on Medical
Education (2007-2010), Committee on Hospital Care( 2009-2010). He has been in leadership
positions at various hospitals through the years. He has been Chairman, Dept. of Pediatrics,
Centennial Medical Center, Frisco, TX, (2008), President, Medical Staff, Integris Clinton
Regional Hospital, Clinton, OK (2003-2004), Vice President, Medical Staff, Integris Clinton Regional
Hospital, Clinton, OK (2002-2003), Secretary, Medical Staff, Integris Clinton Regional Hospital, Clinton,
OK (2000-2001). He is also Instructor in Pediatrics (Volunteer) at UT Southwestern Medical School, Dallas,
TX (2006-Present)
